A Century of Thai Rice Development

Established by King Rama V's intention in 1916, Pathumthani Rice Research Center, the first of its kind in Thailand, has deliberately served as the rice plantation for enriching rice germplasm, enhancing rice-farming approach and soil improvement. It also provides farmers with knowledge on the correct approach for rice farming to ensure the quality Thai rice that meets the demand of the universal market. To celebrate its centennial, Thailand Post issues a commemorative stamp depicting Their Majesties the KJing and the Queen during a trip to harvest rice in Thung Makhamyom District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya on 14th May 1996.
