The Mango Festival in Chachoengsao - The Mango Day

Chachoengsao is popular with delicious mango for foreigner and locals. With the area of 86,000 Rai (=34,400 Acre), mangoes are grown mostly in Bang Khla and Plaeng Yao Distridct. There are over 200 mango cultivars but only a handful of them are known by regular consumers. The favorite mango names are Ma Muang Raed, Khiew Sawoey, Fah Lan, Nam Dock Mai, Nam Dock Mai Si Thong and Dawai Daen Kao. 
The mango season is in March, which also the mango festival will be held annually.
The mango festival was first originated in 1970 in front of Wat Sothorn Wora Wiham by the riverside and was called "Ma Muang Festive Day" and later it became more popular and successful resulting more plantations expanded. In the Mango Day there are many activities such as Mango Market Places, Event Exhibitions, Food & Vegetable Products Contest, Food Center from Chachongsao Farmhouse Women Groups, and more products from mango.
