Thailand Stamps 2015: 120th Anniversary of Thai Army Training Command

Remembering the Legend of Thai Army Training

The Army Training Command has a long history, starting from the Traing Command in 1895 during the reign of King Rama VI with the responsibility of training army students in Saranrom Army School, which later was changed to "Royal Military Academy" and the command name changed to "Army Training Command" in 1914. After the World War II, the training pattern was adjusted to follow the American Military Academy at West Point, and the school was renamed to "Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy" under a direct supervision of the Royal Thai Army, so the command status was changed to "Inspector General Department" responsible for managing army training and education in the military schools.
In 1952, the name and status of Inspector General Department was changed back to "Army Field Forces", which in 1981 was changed to "Army Training Command" until nowadays. Its responsibilities are to facilitate the training of all army units and the education of all military schools, except for Command and General Staff College and Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy. From the first day until now, the 120-years-old Army Training Command is still moving forward under the motto "Build the Army by Training. - Build the Warrior by Education - Build the Commander by Virtue Development".
