Thailand Stamps 20154: ASEAN Community (48th Anniversary of ASEAN esablishment)

Oneness of he Region

Ten roads towards oneness of the ASEAN community within the end of 2015 are not only paved by the motto: "One Vision-One Identity- One Community", they also have "One Stamp-One Postmark." as from 8. August 2015 (the 48th Anniversary of ASEAN establishment) onwards. This is the new phenomena of having shared postage stamps issued for many countries on the same day, using the same stamps and postmarks.
The images are beautiful and colourful painting representing the 10 national flags of the member countries bound together in the shape of a flower around the ASEAN logo, with the motto and a pair of pigeons on the background. Hands sharing at the bottom convey peace and friendship. Golden ears of rice at the base represent ASEAN's shared identity of agricultural community. The postmark conveys 3 pillars (ASEAN political security community, ASEAN economic community and ASEAN social-cultural community) that are components of the ASEAN community. Both images are the works from Vietnam, which have won the first prize in the stamp and postmark design competition held in Thailand at the beginning of 2015. Moreover, the face values of every country are to be set to promote the international postal service.
