Thailand Stamps 2015:100th Anniversary of the Revenue Department

A Century of Thai Taxation Path

Back in 1915, King Rama 6 ordered the incorporation of the internal Revenue department under Ministry of City affairs (Nakhon Ban) and the external Revenue Department and Ministry of interior to be under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Finance and called it the "Revenue Department". In 1938, the Revenue Code Act was enacted, which was considered to be Thailand's major improvement of taxation system. Later, the computer system was applied to tax levies and management in 1992, when the value added tax (VAST) was collected for the first time. In 2001, the e-filling service was launched, and currently in 2015 the e-filling app via smartphone is being developed. All in all, this is along path of a century of the organization that is holding the responsibility for the nations's taxation.
The stamps depict images of building of the Revenue Department in 4 significant eras, from Ratsadakornbhibhathana Building in the Grand Palace (1915), Prince of  Kamphaengphet Palace (old), Ban Bard Sub-district (1940), the 6-floored building on Chakrapong Road (1948), and the 29-floored building on Soi Ari Samphan, Phaholyothin Road (1997) until currently.
