Thailand Stamps 2016: 100th Anniversary of Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong)

Centenary of Hua Lamphong Celebration

It is well-known that the oldest railway station in Thailand is Bangkok Railway Station, unofficially known as Hua Lamphong. It has served Thailand as the main train station for a century since it inauguration on 25th June 1916. It has importance in terms of architecture, artistry, and history, especially Thailand transportation. Designed by an Italian-born architect, Mr. Mario Tamagno, the overall building was built in Neo-Renaissance accent adorned with Italian dome, resembling Frankfurt Main Train Station in Germany. To celebrate its 100 years, Thailand Post issues 4 stamps illustated Hua Lamphong based on its important events.
