Thailand Stamps 2014: Thailand -Vatican Inter-Religious Relation

These commemorative postage stamps are to celebrate the 350th anniversary of a council of the church or a Synod of Ayutthaya in 1664 prior to the official nomination of Apostolic Vicar of Sia which marked the beginning of Christianity in Thailand. To pass down the historical record of the initiative introduction of evangelism, the portrait from French artist's imagination which is the image of a priest or Pope Alexander VII appointing 3 missionaries to carry on evangelism in Asia with an appearance of St. Joseph Church known as the first catholic establishment in Siam as a background.
