New Application Processing of the Royal Embassy in Vientiane / Laos (valid from 1st February 2019)

Long waiting times at the Royal Embassy in Vientianne / Laos have been known for years due to the increased influx of visa applicants. Now the application processing has been changed a little bit. If a tourist visa, transit visa or non-immigrant visa is required, a booking in advance is needed. The previous so-called walk-in applications are no longer possible for these types of visas.

Due to high demand the booking of the queue number should be made very early in advance.
Exceptions are not possible. There is no point hoping to travel to Vientiane to get entrance into the Embassy without prior reservation. At the entrance gate, it is precisely checked and admitted (with reservation) or rejected (without reservation).

A few months ago, the sidewalk was overcrowded and you moved in front of the Royal Thai Embassy portal to get a place in the front row. Thanks to the new regulation, the crowd has reduced ...
